Do you believe that the ten kings or kingdoms of biblical prophecy found in Daniel and Revelation will simply evolve or do you believe that they will assume power as part of an engineered global plan?
Today’s column supports the belief that the present world system, as well as the fourth and final global system prophesied by Daniel, are planned states that materialize on earth under God’s sovereign plan. Call this conspiracy theory, or call it International Futures, the information that follows confirms the biblical truth that the world someone will live in one day soon will be engineered by minds which aren’t controlled by the Holy Spirit.
This entry began while I was reading an article this morning at http://www.newswithviews.com/Rae/debra160.htm. In this article, the author states that “the September 1973 document Regionalized and Adaptive Model of the Global World System reveals that the Club of Rome (responsible for today’s unified Europe) has already divided the world into ten politico-economic regions referred to as “kingdoms.””
I didn’t doubt the existence of the alleged 1973 document the author mentions. I did, however, wonder if the document really did divide the world into ten regions and refer to them as kingdoms. So I began searching the web using startpage to find out more about the ’73 document. As a side issue, in searching the web I used startpage; because unlike Google, start page has the integrity to respect your Constitutional right to privacy. You can add startpage to your web browser by accessing the link http://startpage.com/.
In my search I found an interesting 18 year old document about Global Models written by Peter Brecke of the School of International Affairs at Georgia Institute of Technology in November 1992. You can access that document at ftp://ftp.ncsa.uiuc.edu/GlobalModels/Papers/GloModPC.txt.
In this academic abstract, Peter Brecke describes various integrated global models. Integrated global models are computer programs that simulate various components (economics, demographics, politics, and environment) of the world system as a tool to understand the impact of process change in areas like technology transfer, economic development, armaments reduction, and population control.
It’s easy for me to accept the reality of such modeling because en route to earning a B.S. Industrial Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology, I learned to write FORTRAN based simulation programs. One of the more interesting projects I remember doing was the simulation of a pond ecosystem and a scenario analysis regarding the impact of changes in the many parameters affecting the ponds health.
Brecke surveys a number of different simulation models in his abstract. One of these models was, in fact, the 10 region “Club of Rome” model. I’ve yet to view the actual Club of Rome document said to use the 10 region model, however, I’ve confirmed that the model exists. Here’s a listing of this and other futures models Brecke surveyed in his abstract.
A one world model making projections to 2060. Created in 1970 by Jay Forrester and associates at MIT. Reported in World Dynamics (Forrester, 1971)
WIM (World Integrated Model)
WIM represents the world in 12 regions with the capability to divide one of them into 5 sub regions. A descendant of the Mesarovic-Pestel model that first appeared in the book, Mankind at the Turning Point (Mesarovic and Pestel, 1974).
Mihajlo Mesarovic led the development of WIM collaborating with Barry B. Hughes and Thomas F. Shook.
Superseded by GLOBESIGHT which better addressed questions surrounding global warming.
IFS (International Futures Simulation)
This model represents 10 regions: United States, Western Europe, Rest of Developed Countries, Eastern Europe, USSR, Latin America, Africa, OPEC countries, South and Southeast Asia, China. Processes represented in IFS included Agricultural Production and Consumption, Energy Production and Consumption, Macroeconomics, Population, Trade, Capital Investment, Foreign Aid, Government Expenditures, Carbon Dioxide Emissions, Physical Quality of Life, Land Usage.
IFs90 (1990 version of IFS)
Includes representations of social mobilization, military power, arms races between nations or alliances, and the possibility of arms races leading to war.
RW-3 (Regional World III)
RW-3 represents 26 countries/country groupings. Developed in the mid-1970’s by Fred Kile and Arnold Rabehl at the Aid Association for Lutherans in Wisconsin. The next generation simulation was the Integrated World Model.WM (Integrated World Model) also referred to as RW-IV.
Integrated World Model.WM (RW-IV)
IWM represents 24 countries/country groupings with room to expand to 30.
GLOBUS (Generating Long-Term Options By Using Simulation)
First model to include political processes developed in the mid-1980’s at the Science Center Berlin for Social Research by Stuart Bremer, Barry B. Hughes, Peter Brecke, and others.
The model represents 25 countries and a Rest of World entity. It focuses on political-economic processes-Domestic Economics, Domestic Politics, Government Budget Allocation, International Economics, International Politics, and Demographics.
A project was underway to expand GLOBUS to 33 countries and update its data from 1970 to 1990 values while modernize its user interface to a Microsoft Windows program.
What advances have global modeling and International Futures taken since 1992?
In 1996, Barry B. Hughes wrote International Futures: Choices in the Creation of a New World Order, Second Edition, Boulder, Colorado: Westview Press, 1996.
Since then, Dr. Barry Hughes has taken the International Futures model to new heights in global planning according to the International Futures links at http://www.ifs.du.edu/introduction/ifs.aspx
“IFs was a core component of a project exploring the New Economy sponsored by the European Commission. Forecasts from IFs supported Project 2020 of the National Intelligence Council as well as the NIC’s Global Trends 2025 for the Obama administration who took office in early 2009. IFs was used to provide driver forecasts for the fourth Global Environment Outlook of the United Nations Environment Program. IFs is also a key piece of the research project supported by DG INFSO of the European Commission to forecast ICT trends.”
Dr. Barry Hughes biographies can be seen at http://www.ifs.du.edu/community/team/hughes.aspx
A review of his book, International Futures: Choices in the Face of Uncertainty can be read at http://jasss.soc.surrey.ac.uk/4/4/reviews/hughes.html
Whether or not the IFS (International Futures Simulation) 10 region “Club of Rome” model will actually be the plan that will fulfill biblical prophecy remains to be seen.
In the meantime, however, we can be sure that in this spiritual battle for human souls, the spiritual defeat of God’s people, and Lucifer’s glory; Satan’s working like the devil through the many antichristian points of light he’s positioned at office desks around the world. These compartmentalized workers may not be aware of the evil power that they serve. That isn’t the point of this column. Whether they serve in ignorance or in knowledge of their dark master, however, they support the devil’s futile goal of defeating the King of Kings and Lord of Lords in that great battle one day soon when the Lord Jesus Christ will return in flaming fire taking vengeance on his enemies, the friends of Lucifer’s world system.
Put on the whole armour of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:11-12)
Grace and peace;
